Oscar laureate Vittorio Storaro wins "Golden Camera 300"

Three-time Oscar laureate Vittorio Storaro is the winner of the life achievement award "Golden Camera 300" at this year's 26th international festival of film camera "Manaki Brothers", which will be held on September 20-25 in Bitola.
The 65-year-old director of photography has made around 50 feature films. He won his first Oscar for film "Apocalypse Now", directed by Francis Ford Coppola, followed by the one for "Reds", directed by Warren Beatty. He won his third academy award for film "The Last Emperor", directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, with whom he also made "Last Tango in Paris", "Tea in Sahara", "Luna", "The Conformist", "The Spider's Stratagem", "Little Buddha".
Storaro will be presented with the award at the festival's opening. Seminar on topic "Writing with Light", entitled according to his book trilogy on light, colors and forms, will also be held.
"Manaki Brothers" festival will project the world premiere of feature film "Contact" by Sergej Stanojkovski, as well as regular content - short films, student program "Manaki Brothers" and program "Bioskop", which includes latest film achievements.
This year's festival will mark the 100th anniversary of Macedonian film and the first shots on the Balkans, along with the history of Macedonian film, starting from Manaki's first image up to the contemporary film achievements.
Furthermore, special program "Balkanika" will present the most significant Balkan films in the past century. |
